Speed Baccarat Side Bets Guide
Speed Baccarat Side Bets Guide
Speed Baccarat offers several optional side bets that can be placed alongside your main Player, Banker, or Tie wager. These bets offer higher payouts in exchange for lower probability outcomes. With round times under 30 seconds, the side bet window is brief — knowing exactly what you want to bet before the window opens is essential.
Player Pair and Banker Pair
These are the most common side bets in Speed Baccarat. A Player Pair wins if the first two cards dealt to the Player position are of equal rank (e.g., two 7s, two Queens). A Banker Pair wins if the first two cards dealt to the Banker position are of equal rank. Both bets pay 11:1. The RTP for both is 89.64%, making them moderately favourable as side bets go.
Either Pair
The Either Pair bet wins if either the Player position or the Banker position (or both) holds a pair among their first two cards. It is a broader version of the individual pair bets. Either Pair pays 5:1 and carries an RTP of approximately 86.29%.
Perfect Pair
A Perfect Pair requires the two initial cards in a single position to be identical in both rank and suit — for example, two 5 of Spades. A single Perfect Pair pays 25:1. If both the Player AND the Banker hold Perfect Pairs simultaneously, the payout reaches 200:1 (some providers list this as a separate bet paying up to 250:1). The RTP on the Perfect Pair is 91.95%.
Player Bonus and Banker Bonus
The Bonus bets pay out when the selected position wins with a Natural 8 or Natural 9. The standard Bonus pays 30:1 for a natural, depending on the provider's specific paytable. Some variants of the Bonus bet scale the payout based on how far the winning margin exceeds the losing hand.
Should You Place Side Bets in Speed Baccarat?
Side bets have lower RTPs than the Banker main bet (which returns 98.94%). A session of pure side bets would drain a bankroll faster than sticking to the main positions. That said, an occasional Perfect Pair bet adds excitement and the payout potential is significant. The key is proportion — side bets should represent a small fraction of each session's total action.
Speed and Side Bet Strategy
The 10–12 second betting window means there is little time for calculation. Decide your side bet approach before the session starts and stick to it. Pre-selecting a fixed side bet (such as always placing a small Banker Pair alongside your Banker main bet) is more practical than making in-the-moment decisions under time pressure.
-
Bet 1: Banker + Banker Pair Combo
Place your main bet on Banker. Add a small Banker Pair side bet. If Banker wins and holds a pair, you collect both payouts: 0.95:1 on the main and 11:1 on the pair.
-
Bet 2: Either Pair for Coverage
Either Pair covers both positions at once. If you are unsure which side will pair, a small Either Pair bet at 5:1 provides broader coverage for a lower payout.
-
Bet 3: Perfect Pair Jackpot Hunt
If you enjoy chasing large payouts, an occasional Perfect Pair wager at the table minimum can yield 25:1 or 200:1 without significantly affecting your main bankroll.
-
Bet 4: Avoid Overloading Side Bets
Placing multiple side bets every round dramatically increases the house edge on your total action. Discipline is key — commit to one side bet type per session.
